People Against Driving

Hi Michael and Jarrod!

My name is Sarah, and I live just outside of your town. I know a big group of people who are also against driving and we’re all a part of our own club called ‘People Against Driving’ or ‘PAD’ for short. We found it funny because cars have brake pads. As a collective we all really like puns, so our meetings are funny whilst also dissing driving, saving the planet, and refusing to ever get a clutch repair. I’ve read your comment thread and I really think you’d both benefit from joining our club.

I formed the club six years ago when I decided that I never wanted to get my license. Just like you Michael, I don’t believe in conforming and I don’t like people telling me what to do. I also care about the planet and enjoy saving money, but the driving factor (pun intended) was that I absolutely did not want to do something just because everyone else was doing it. Ever since I formed the club people have joined for all sorts of reasons. Many people, like you Jarrod, joined because driving really just is too expensive, and it’s nice to be around people who are going through the same thing. The club is free, however, if you stay for lunch it’ll cost $5 to enjoy the buffet.

I’m hoping that by reaching out to both of you, I’ll see you guys at the next meeting. I promise that the only mention of any sort of car service, brake repair or whatever, will be done in jest and that I won’t be forcing you to visit the mechanic near Raceview as a power trip. If you like the sound of what I’ve said, please don’t hesitate to get in touch. It will be nice to have people from your town join our club. The more people that join the further our ideations will spread.

Look forward to seeing you both!
